DESCRIPTION OF ASSESSMENT: The student will be required to:
1. Select one of the children in the given scenario for the course partnership and collaboration.
2. Consider the contributions of different professionals/individuals who might be involved with the family in relation to the Every Child Matters Outcomes and integrated working
3. Analyse how individuals and professionals from the childrens services could work with the family to provide an integrated service for the child you have chosen.
4. Analyse factors that may enhance or inhibit integrated working.

Yvonne and Winston live in a 3 bedroom terraced house in South London. Yvonne is a full time mum and Winston works for the local council in an administrative role.
They have four children two boys Charlie and George and two girls Abigail and Rose.
Charlie is 15 years old and is Yvonnes son from a previous relationship; he has known Winston since he was 1 year old. Until six months ago he had had no contact with his birth father. However six months ago his birth father made contact and since then Charlie has met with him several times. Charlie attends mainstream school and is doing fairly well with his studies. The school have recently been in touch about Charlies attendance and have informed Yvonne and Winston that when he is in school Charlie appears more withdrawn.
Abigail has learning difficulties. She has had an assessment by the disability team and her parents are awaiting the results. She attends mainstream school and is in year 5. She has been identified by her primary school as having special educational needs and the schools Special Education Needs Coordinator (SENCO); who has devised an action plan (Individual Education Plan) with interventions for Abigail. Abigails parents are starting to think about a secondary school that would suit Abigail and give her appropriate support.
George is 6 years old and in year 1 at the same primary school as his sister. George has asthma and takes medication every day. He has had several hospital admissions due to the asthma and sometimes he has an asthma attack at school. School have his medicine in a secure place should he have an asthma attack at school. Georges parents want him to be involved in all the activities in school. Dad Winston smokes and has tried several times to give up as he knows this has an effect on Georges asthma
Rose is 3 years old and has met all of her developmental milestones although her speech is delayed. She is at home all day with mum. She does not attend nursery. Yvonne and Winston are concerned because Rose has starting waking during the night and it is difficult to get her back to sleep. Her parents are feeling very tired as this is affecting their sleep.
